Such a lovely lady. She will be greatly missed. Always smiling whenever I was fortunate enough to see her. She was such a good friend to my daughter Cheryl. Gone far too soon.

You know how much you meant to me. You always will. I'll miss you forever. Say hi to Tiggy, Amy and Sassy for me. Until we meet again one day, I'll be greeting you with my neon blue cane. Don't forget to bring your pink one. We were supposed to grow old together.

I don't know where to even start.... she was like my little sister at the clinic for so many years. We grew up together. Learned together. We talked about continuing to work together for years!! This hurts. Badly. So very sad to know that she is gone. The world has lost a sweet soul.

I had the pleasure of meeting Melanie a day or so after her birth. John and Lilla took me into their home on Humbercrest during the summer of 1978 so I could work in Toronto as a summer student. Lilla was very much pregnant with Mel - what anticipation we all had! I got to hold the swaddled babe when she came home and connected with her sister Sarah and family's cherished Golden Retriever Cynthia Lorna Doone. Mel was introduced to a love of animals from her earliest days. A kind, loving and beautiful soul gone far too soon.

Our family’s memories began with tween-age twins Melanie and Sarah as we worked together with Lilla at Humbercrest United Church. Melanie and Sarah were unfailingly kind and patient with our young daughters Kate and Megan while Lilla was an extra “auntie”. Our family cherishes our memories of years we shared together and we sharply grieve the loss of Melanie. Our prayers continue for Sarah and Lilla and all the rest of the family and friends.
With love,
Carol, Steve and Kate

I met Mel at massage school and she was such a sweet, kind and awesome friend. We spent many years studying and laughing through class but her passion was always caring for animals. She was always there for a friend and I will miss her dearly. Rest in peace Mel ❤️

Mel had a smile that lit up a room! Her kindness and empathy towards others and animals was inspiring. I met Mel at Centennial College while we attended massage school together. We had so much fun and laughs together. Mel will never be forgotten xo

I Met Mel through a friend. She was so special. We would see each other occasionally. Grab a bite. A bike ride. Grab a movie. Grab a dinner. I enjoyed my time with her. Life went into different directions. I’m so sorry about this loss. RIP Mel. Gone too soon.

I first met Melanie at a working interview for a job at an animal hospital. She welcomed me with a smile and gave a glowing review which sealed my position in the organization. I was able to share half of my life with Mel from that point on. She was always there to listen, laugh, share a hug, or a plate of wings. She is truly an amazing light in so many lives. She passing has left a scare on my heart.

May was a sweet soul and always up for a good prank. When we were 16 "helped" Santa write a thank you note on Xmas Eve.
She was one of my bridesmaids when I got married and she helped me do my nails since I couldn't see over wedding dress.
Anyone who knew May knew about her love for animals. Whenever I had an issue with a pet I would call her up.
I'm heartbroken about her passing. My love, thoughts, and prayers go my Aunt Lilla and Sarah at this time.
