Jeanne designed and built a home on what is now Bowmanville Ave. Jeanne played tennis and badminton and bridge with fierce determination. She and Keith travelled extensively and Jeanne was a huge attraction with her auburn hair in China in the 70’s.
Jeanne’s entrepreneurial spirit drove her to open and run a successful interior design centre called The Wild Oak in Oshawa. She thoroughly enjoyed planning and designing living spaces.
Jeanne also performed and soloed in the annual Bowmanville “Cornz-a-Poppin” reviews. She was a lifelong member of the Trinity United Church of Bowmanville, and participated in bridge clubs, and the Jack and Jill Club all the while raising four demanding children.
After Keith passed in 1992, Jeanne married John (Jack) Froud and they lived a loving life for 22 more years. They travelled extensively including to the Kentucky Derby, regularly to Florida and on several big band cruises where they danced the night away.Jack passed in late 2018.
Jeanne, now "Jana" to 4 Children, 9 Grand-children, and 9 Great-grand Children, has been surrounded by friends and family for her later years.. Her mind and memory never faltered or weakened over 99 years of life. A beacon of light for the Slemon family, she will always be remembered for her style and grace.
