Our sincere condolences to the Slemon family at the recent passing of your mother.
Your parents were such good friends with our parents, forming a close bond through Trinity Church, the Jack & Jill Club, Rotary, and of course, the Quartet. They travelled together, played cards together, sang together, laughed together. Your Mom even threw me a bridal shower, which I greatly appreciated. And your Dad was M.C. at my wedding.
Your Mom was such a lovely lady, talented in so many ways. And always so stylish. She decorated (read “modernized”) our family home. I remember her in skits and singing at the annual Cornz-a-Poppin shows at the old Town Hall. They were the best of times, weren’t they.
Kind of lost track of your Mom since my parents have been gone now for almost thirty years, but I’m glad to hear she again found happiness after your Dad died so young. She packed a lot of life into those 99 years.
I hope you find comfort in all good memories.
Sincerely,
Sheila, Art & Faye Jackson
