Having worked with Darlene for many years, I knew her to be passionate in both family and work. She loved to share the details of her family life and it was so clear how important family was to her.
She was a fighter, a doer, a sparkplug and the consummate right hand. She got things done and was a huge part of the incredible success that Davis + Henderson achieved.
It’s hard to believe that this was a battle that she couldn’t overcome.

Stuart, Jen, Andrea & Andrew, Nicole & Kaillum, Our Darlene was taken from us far too soon, but she lived each day to the fullest. She got stalled for a few minutes when she first got her diagnosis, but then focused on her goal and fought with everything she had. She was a wonderful sister and aunt to us and we enjoyed all the times we were lucky enough to have with her. She had a wonderful work ethic but at the same time she knew that family was first and family was so important to her. I admired her for those qualities. She spoke her mind, and for that we are forever grateful. We will miss her talks the most, as she was always there to listen. We are glad that she is not suffering anymore and I know she is smiling down on us now and so proud of all of you for the loving care that you provided to her, especially in her final days. We are always here for you and love you all so much.

Stuart, lots of memories were made in Blackstock at the many family reunions hosted in your home. Darlene left so many lessons for her girls. Her work ethic was off the charts. Her vegetable garden was a point of pride as was the maple syrup harvested. She showed her girls anyone can take to the stage to dance at any age. Darlene was one of the greatest people I have ever met. Selfless, loving, quietly competent, funny, smart, loyal and grounded. She loved her family dearly and would do anything for them. She also loved her work family at D+H and spent a lifetime giving her best everyday.
