Our condolences to the Winters family on the loss of Aunt Evelyn. Our thoughts and prayers are with you today. We have such wonderful memories of Evelyn and we loved her dearly. She was funny, positive and always a joy to be around. We had many visits with her and Uncle Spence when they lived in St John's and Topsail Pond - we lived in Long Pond at the time. One visit was most memorable when we played a game of darts with them. Evelyn just couldn't hit the board but kept hitting the wall and glancing the darts off the ceiling. We laughed till we cried - Evelyn laughing the most at herself! But that was Evelyn.
She was a wonderful lady and has left a great legacy as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and wonderful friend. Be comforted in knowing she was loved by many and will be missed by us all.
Mom (Betty) sends her condolences too. She and dad were such good friends with Spence and Evelyn all their lives, and over the years we have heard countless stories of their growing up in Millertown and their early married lives in Saint John. All of these stories ending (as you might expect) in a great laugh as well. We pray a blessing on you today as you celebrate a life well lived!

I didn't know Evelyn very well, but I believe that I had lunch with her and Sandra at the Maid's Cottage in Newmarket. What a talented, delightful and fun person she was with lots of good stories to tell. From what Sandra has told me, she was a loving mother, active and devoted volunteer in several organizations, and caring friend to all. No doubt, her Newfoundland background of faith, hope and charity (not to mention humour) was the genesis of this special lady. Brian and I offer our sincere condolences on the passing of such a fine person.
Love,
Michele and Brian Horton

Sandra, Peter, Brenda, Karen and families,
Condolences to you all on the passing of (great) Aunt Evelyn. She was always such a kind and caring person and made you feel at home when visiting. I remember growing up and spending time at your houses in St. John’s, especially at Christmas time, birthday parties and sleepovers. Aunt Evelyn made the best shortbread with sprinkles that would melt in your mouth. She always had them made for special occasions!! Your mom and dad welcomed Perry, then our two boys Jamie and Justin to their home and we always had to have a meal. We visited Aunt Evelyn and Uncle Spence in Wasaga Beach while camping there one summer and again their home was open to our family in Calgary. We will remember Aunt Evelyn for her love, kindness and many fond memories.
Donna, Perry, Jamie, Justin and families.

Sandra, Peter, Brenda, Karen, and families,
I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Aunt Evelyn. She was a very special aunt and I fondly remember the good times we had. Art and I had so much fun with your mom and dad especially when we would play cards together at a card game. Aunt Evelyn was such a good baker - she made the best raisin bread. I have many of her recipes in my collection. I will be thinking of you all especially today as you share in the celebration of her life.
Love Shirley

Reflecting today on all the beautiful memories of your precious mom, my aunt. Especially of the last time she visited us. Of dad putting on one of his face masks, going outside, ringing the doorbell and asking for Mrs. Winters. You can only imagine the fun that ensued. Such was every visit the warmth and her love radiating to all of us. I was especially blessed to have lived with aunt Evelyn, uncle Spence and family when I first left Brookfield. She truly made me feel at home. At 1:11 a.m. on Tuesday a good heart stopped beating, a precious soul ascended to heaven. I will always remember her and keep her close in my heart.
Sending love
Mabel & Joe

Sandra, Peter, Brenda, Karen and Families. It is with great sadness that we receive the news of Aunt Evelyn's passing. It is with great fondness I remember her charitable and kind heart. Specially precious to me are my memories of her welcoming, kind and caring love that she and Uncle Spence gave to me when I first moved to St. John's and lived with them for a time. Although she will be missed tremendously the memory of her admirable life, love and kindness will always live on. Our prayers are with the family at this time. May God bless you all and strengthen you now more than ever. Thank you Aunt Evelyn, may you rest in peace.
Love, Elizabeth (Kean) Baxstrome and family.

To my cousins, Sandra, Peter, Brenda, and Karen, and your families. Thinking of you and sorry for your loss. It's hard to lose your Mom. Aunt Evelyn always had such a kind way about her. I was always touched when she called me "My Darling" as a child and as an adult. I really admired your Mom and Dad.

The Winters Family
So sad to hear about the passing of my beloved sister Evelyn. Although we haven’t been able to see each other for few years as result of health issues and distance, Evelyn and I we’re always very close sisters. In earlier years when they had their summer home in Brookfield we would visit each other constantly or I would visit her family in St John’s . We had a very happy childhood growing up in Brookfield and my mind has many vivid memories of these times. I’m in failing health and will soon see Evelyn again as I pray for God to take me home.
Your loving Aunt Pearl Kean

So sad to hear of Aunt Evelyn’s passing. Although we cannot be there in person during this difficult time, may you feel comfort in knowing our thoughts and prayers are with you . Aunt Evelyn was a very special loving Aunt who made you feel welcome anytime you visited their home. She wouldn’t be long putting on one of her delicious meals and she could never do enough for you. Aunt Evelyn home was always full of love and happiness. Her radiant smile and soft gentle voice would light up her home. Although you can’t hear her voice call your name or see her beautiful smile, you all have a lifetime of wonderful memories to brighten these sad days ahead. Aunt Evelyn we love you
