Obituary of Stan Gylytiuk
Passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2021 at the age of 76 years.
Beloved husband of Lynn E. Gylytiuk (nee Yeo) for 52 years. Proud and loving father of Carey Gregorashuk (Shannon), Kimberly Cox, Shane Gylytiuk (Wendy Spence), Tammy Brown (Andrew Taylor, Phil Brown), John Halik (Nicole), Sarah Halik, Kathy Collier, Christopher Butler & Virginia Bierman. Adored grandpa of Kirsten, Katelyn, Ashley, Cai, Brooklyn, Tristan, Jett, Hailey, Holland, Gillian, Wyatt, Bella, Olivia, Tyson & Travis and great-grandpa of Ada, Gage and Blake. Loved brother of Ernest Gylytiuk (Rosemarie), Diane Powney (Frank), Bob Gylytiuk (Corine), Brian Gylytiuk (Irene) and Gary Gylytiuk (Jean). Dear brother in law of Bessie Van Eyk (Paul), Murray Yeo (Arlene), Jane Smith, John Luxton and predeceased by Kathleen & Glenn Smith and Bill & Evelyn Yeo. He will be sadly missed by all of his extended family and many friends.
Stan was a long time employee at General Motors but his real passion was family. Together with Lynn they have been foster parents for over 40 years with Durham Children’s Aid Society. The impact that they had on countless children’s lives is immeasurable. He will be truly missed.
Due to current restrictions no services are being held at this time. A Private Family Memorial will be held at Bethesda Cemetery in the spring, followed by a Celebration of Stan’s life when it is safe to do so. Arrangements entrusted to NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville. To honour the lifetime of giving, Memorial Donations may be made to Durham Children’s Aid Society.
