Niki Gagnon posted a condolence

Grandpa Ed will always hold a very special place in my heart & that place now feels a little heavier. He doted on me in my childhood & sought every opportunity to use me as an excuse to have ice cream (I wasn't complaining!) He was the same with my daughter Reese when she came along & it was apparent that he had captured her heart as well. I never heard anyone speak an unkind word about him, for I think he truly embodied the concept of goodness. Adulthood has thrown me some curveballs & I admittedly & regretfully fell out of touch shortly after Nana died...and just last Christmas said to my husband that I needed to go see Grandpa Ed...It is unfortunate that I let "life get in the way" as people so often say. Time & distance have never affected my love and affection for him and I know that so many others feel the exact same way. I send my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to all of his family as I too grieve (but remember with fondness) my Grandpa Ed. The world is a better place for him having been a part of it and of us.
