ELVA BURTON KINNEAR-McKNIGHT

Surrounded by her cherished children, Elva was guided and received to glory on February 26th, 2017 in her 102nd year.
Born in Sussex, New Brunswick on January 26, 1916, she was predeceased by her loving husbands, Robert Kinnear and Murray McKnight. Elva was the bright and guiding light to her children Ritson Kinnear (Barbara) and Elva “Ellie” Kinnear. Mentor to her treasured grandchildren Dionne, Lacia, Amie and her beloved great grandbaby Cooper. She also leaves her three stepchildren Jim McKnight (Sharon), Patricia Ball (Carman) and Jack McKnight (Darlene).
Elva’s life was devoted to her God and family. She was predeceased by her four brothers and sisters and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Living in Bowmanville for 64 years, she was an exemplary example of church and community as a strong supporter of The Salvation Army, Red Cross, Women’s Institute, Horticultural Society, Community Care and a member of Trulls Road Free Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North, Bowmanville on Wednesday March 1st, 2017 from 6 – 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday March 2nd, 2017 at 11 am, with visitation from 10 – 11 am. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to Trulls Road Free Methodist Church, Building Fund.
