Obituary of Marjorie Luella Jensen

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Friday July 22, 2011in her 85th year. She was predeceased by Chester, her husband of 59 years and by their son, John. She was the much loved mother of Don & his wife June, Cathy Bowman & her husband Jim, and Garth & his wife Carron. Marjorie was a devoted grandmother to David (Debra), Laura, Michael (Deb), Heather, Stephen (Virginia), Timothy (Lisa), Brian, Rebecca, Joshua and Caleb, and a loving great-grandmother to Danielle, Jessica, Rachel, Joshua, Amelia, Ella, Berkleigh and Kayah. She was the youngest of 10 children (all deceased) and is survived by her two sisters-in-law Ruth (Clair) Hill and Hazel Jensen. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews in Yarmouth, N.S. area where she grew up and the New Denmark, N.B. area where she lived her early married years before coming to Ontario. Marjorie will be fondly remembered as the “Candy Lady” freely dispensing assorted peppermints, a warm smile and a friendly hug to her church family and friends. In a moment’s notice, Marjorie was ready for a coffee at Tim’s, a grandchild’s hockey or baseball game or a quick shopping trip. Many children in third world countries will be warm at night because of the hundreds of squares that she knit for blankets. Family and friends are invited to the NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville for visitation on Sunday July 24, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Celebration of her life will be held in the Chapel on Monday July 25, 2011 at 11am. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Bible Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or a Charity of your choice.
