Obituary of Aidan Thomas Meldrum

Aidan Thomas Meldrum (b. 29 Mar 1998) passed away November 12th 2024 in Oshawa, Ontario at 26 years of age.

He was an incredibly creative and talented young man who created with Blender animation and was the only melodica player any of us knew. He had a love for all things arcane and esoteric, reading Tarot cards and the published works of H.P. Lovecraft. He brought his knowledge to Dungeons & Dragons where his creativity thrived, telling magical intricate stories that kept us enthralled. His creativity was matched by his wit, both incredibly sharp and outrageously funny. He made everyone laugh harder than they ever had before. His humour being highly sarcastic and often dark, combined with his outrageous and impeccable impressions, would disarm you and charm you with its absurdity. He often put his mind to learning and exploiting various board games with a subtle flair, showcasing his easy mastery, leading him to victory time and again in all but Ticket to Ride in which his brother Iain remained undefeated much to his chagrin and protestations of cheating and chicanery. He was at his best during games of intrigue which required him to read and anticipate his opponents' actions and reactions, able to entice them into a clever trap or instigate them into making a mistake. He was well known on Twitch where his impressions and quips earned him much adoration. He was fiercely loyal to his family and often came to others defence. He had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. He could always be seen with his Jack Russell-Dachshund mix, Barley whom he cared for until her death at 12 years old. He immediately took to his brothers' dogs Teddy (Golden retriever), Juno (German Shepard) and Zagreus (Potcake). He had an instant love for Juno and often considered adopting a German Shepard himself. Despite being highly allergic to cats, he could be caught petting any cat he came across.

He is survived by his mother Susan, father Douglas and brothers Iain (Tyson) and Christopher (Jennifer).
