Obituary of Robert Hood

Robert John Stirling Holburn Johnstone Hood

Passed peacefully on October 1, 2024 at Fairview Lodge with his wife at his side.

Rob was the most loving, heartwarming, caring man.  He would greet you with a firm hand shake that would move into a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek.  He adored his wife Judy and catered to her every need until he was stricken with rare young onset dementia in 2020 after knee surgery.  It was heartbreaking to watch him lose all of the things that made him Rob. His ability to be a social butterfly and jump in his vehicle and just spend the day visiting family and friends.

Rob loved life, he loved music, loved to dance especially at home with his wife and daughter Cassandra.  He loved his Pittsburg Steelers, Toronto Maple Leafs and NASCAR.  His favourite band was Rush and I can still see the smile on his face when he saw them live in Toronto.  His favourite holiday was Halloween, for those who lived on Hobbs drive you know all about it.  His son Christopher has now taken over the roll and he loves it as much as his dad did.

Rob was an amazing father, husband, Papa, brother in law, friend and uncle.  Let’s put it this way, it didn’t matter what hat he was wearing he did it at 110%.  All he ever wanted was to make anyone around him happy.  If you looked sad or upset Robs cure was a great big hug, if he knew you or not.

Rob my love you will be missed by everyone that knew you, our world has certainly changed.  Thankfully you have left us all with so many beautiful memories that will be cherished forever.
