I remember Carol fondly as my Math Teacher at Winona High School. She was meant to be a teacher and made a difference in the lives of her students, including me.
My sincere condolences to Carol’s family.

Thank you Carol for all your years of teaching and friendship. From the hallowed halls of Highland Secondary School in Dundas, to the greater community you served, your good counsel, support and help to others are a fine legacy of a life well lived. You were a tutor to us all.

Carol has left us with many fond memories, from being young teachers together at Winona High, to playing bridge with Patty and Shirley at her apartment. As members of Soroptimist we travelled to New York city and Thunder Bay, did numerous local charities for improving the lives of women and young girls. Carol showed strength and tenacity as she dealt health issues of ALS. Condolences to her family and friends who had the privilege of her being part of their life. She will be our hearts forever.

Despite sharing membership in the teaching profession with the same school board, I only had the good fortune of initially meeting Carol in her capacity as volunteer President of the local chapter of SOROPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL, an organization that seeks to empower women and girls by encouraging education and training. During that time, she was instrumental in providing funding to countless single mothers and disadvantaged females who seek training to improve their lives. I vividly remember that she also motivated the membership to redecorate various rooms at a local women’s shelter. Knowing that Carol was a phenomenal Math teacher, I turned to her years later in her retirement to get support for my niece whose senior level Math courses were challenging. Carol quickly diagnosed the gaps in learning and provided my niece with the tools to be very successful. Carol also went the extra mile to ensure my niece was ready for her exams. This world has lost a brilliant mind who left an indelible mark on so many lives. May she rest in peace knowing that all her efforts were very much appreciated. ♥️
