Obituary of Ruth Cowle

In Loving Memory of Mary Reta (Ruth) Cowle (Nee Adams) May 14, 1935 - September 8, 2024 With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Ruth Cowle on September 8, 2024 at the age of 89.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the predeceased Donald G Cowle and daughter of the Late James and Gertude Adams (Wotten) Beloved Mother of Donna Mairs (Late Bill), Cindy Millson (Deceased) (Steve), Donnie Cowle (Karen) and Kenny Cowle (Sharon). Cherished grandmother to Jennifer Mairs, Amanda Mairs (Warren) Adam Millson (Amanda), Andrew Millson (Shannon) Matthew Cowle (Jay), Mitch Cowle (Nicole), Dylan Cowle, Cassidy Cowle (Ty) Cody Cowle. Adored Great Grandmother to Tyler Burgess (Kensey), Brandon Burgess (Erin), Travis, Ella, Cole, Ryder Millson and Ava and Jace Millson. Loving Great Great Grandmother to Hannah, Blake and Jade Burgess. Survived by sister Helen MacDonald (late Milford), Predeceased by Brother Henry Adams (Verna), Marjorie Gray (Dave), Dorothy Lethange (Verdon), Lawrence Adams (Jesse), Jean Fallis (Jim) Survived by sister-in-law Joan Cowles, Predeceased by sister in law Dorothy Leblanc & late brother - in - law Bill Cowle Loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Ruth lived a vibrant life filled with joy, creativity and music. She loved to sing and was a talented musician. She loved playing the piano, accordion, harmonica, and the omni chord. She enjoyed sharing her passion by listening to her friends and others perform. An active member of the Bowmanville Legion, Ruth enjoyed participating in mixed darts on Sundays and was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary.  She was also a  BOAA choir member. She cherished spending time with family and friends hanging out in the garage entertaining company and chatting with neighbours as they passed by. She loved painting and gardening, playing cards, and cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays & Toronto Maple Leafs. In her earlier years, Ruth made many cherished memories at the family cottage with loved ones. She had a deep affection for animals, and her dogs and cats were always close to her heart. Anyone who knew Ruth will miss her dearly. Her spirit, creativity, and love for life and her family, will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Bowmanville Creek Staff and Friends, her care team, Dr. Lottering, the EMS workers, nurses and doctors at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, all who provided exceptional care for her alongside her family.

A private graveside service will be held.  Arrangements entrusted to NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street, Bowmanville.
