Obituary of Kevin Murphy
Kevin John Murphy, 90, passed away on August 12th 2024 in Bowmanville. Born on August 26, 1933, in Montreal, Quebec, Kevin graduated from Loyola College in Montreal. He had a diverse career, working in sales before finishing his professional journey as a driver for Greyhound buslines.
Kevin is survived by his sons Sean (Denise), Mike, and Steve (Christine); grandchildren Courtice, Courtney, Hayden, Cameron, Leif, and Liam; and his sister Kathleen. He was predeceased by his wives Frances, Jeanette, and Patricia; his parents Christopher and Elizabeth; and his siblings Eileen and Thomas.
A devout member of the Catholic Church, Kevin dedicated much of his time to volunteering at church activities. He was a proficient runner, often sharing stories of his high school track successes. Kevin also had a deep love for hockey, enjoying outdoor rink games in Montreal as a child and passing this passion on to his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 14th from 6pm-8pm at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St., Bowmanville. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday August 15th at 10:30 am at St. John The Evangelist Parish 903 Giffard Street, Whitby, ON L1N 2S2.
