Robert Furber Benson. Born Oct 23,1942, Died May 8, 2024
Bob (The Furb) Benson was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann, his parents, Grace and Harry, his sister Jan, his brother John and sister Sharon. He is survived by his brother Richard, daughters Louise, Jann, and Denice and his son Rob along with nieces, nephews, grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Despite suffering polio at the age of 9 months, Bob became a mechanic at a young age and there was almost no machine that he couldn’t fix. He repaired the motorcycles for the Golden Hawks Motorcycle Club when was only 17 and 18 whilst going to Oshawa Collegiate and Vocational Institute (OCVI) and living at home. As an adult he worked hard at his own businesses, RFB Industrial Truck and Pac Rac Systems, now run Canada-wide by his son Rob and nephew Ryan. Bob provided a lovely home and cottage for his family and he loved to dance, especially with his wife, Ann. Bob was not always a nice person, in fact, he was sometimes a downright bastard, but we loved him anyway and we’ll miss him. We love you, Dad.
