Ron was a really decent person. That smile. He had the best disposition. I swear to god he looks pretty much the same in this picture as the day I met him: Hair is darker. I knew him well during our high school years. He was the first of our group to get his driver's license and there were a lot of hours spent cruising the hood in Don Mills when he first got that license. His mom and dad were really good people. They were generous and welcoming (and tolerant of some pretty offside teenage behaviour). They let our gang hang in their basement and at their cottage on Sparrow Lake. ( His dad taught us all how to be better water skiers.) Ron was a great skier on water and on snow. There were a lot of Friday nights, in our youth, spent at both the Don Valley Ski hill and Honey Pot ski resort were Ron was a volunteer ski patroller while still in high school. He and I shared the experience of being on the Lake Louise ski hill "pro patrol" the winter of 75/76. Ron knew how to have fun and everybody liked him. I could go on. We lost touch over the years. I regret that. My condolences to his wife, kids and family. Ron: will always remember you fondly. Rest in Peace. Jarvis.

I could write pages on Ron’s high school adventures; ski trips and patrolling, school council, pre-parties in his basement. The most likeable guy, Ron carried a perpetual grin and punctuated every other sentence with his contagious chuckle. This brief tribute does injustice to all that Ron was and the joy that Ron spread. My deepest sympathies go out to Ron’s family and all who loved and miss him.

Ron had the best parties in high school, and his mom knew there wouldn’t be any of her homemade cookies left in the cookie jar. I was deeply saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. I remember many a Sunday night when Ron and Scottie Graham would drop by to visit my family after dinner. My parents loved him. Sending my deepest condolences to his family. Heaven has gained another angel. Cindy Shaw

We were neighbours on Cassandra Blvd and he would always smile and wave from across the street and say hello when he pulled up in his cool car and I was just a kid on my bike riding up and down the street. I might have hollered out “Hi Ron!” and he took the time to say hi to me, a little girl. He made me feel special. We lived at 177.
My parents knew his parents, they may have curled together.
Sending condolences from the Currie family on Cassandra Blvd. I am very sorry for your loss.
