Obituary of Robert Francis MacPherson
Robert “Bob” Francis MacPherson
It is with profound sadness that the family of Bob MacPherson announce that he passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on January 2, 2024.
Much loved husband of Elaine. Stepfather to Kimberly (Martin) Bain, Allison (John) Robinson. Father to Justin Joseph MacPherson (Kiera) and loved by his grandchildren Ethan, Kyle and Emma-Jane, Mya and Lucas. Dear brother to Lois Lewins, Chris MacPherson and Janice Fulling. He was predeceased by his sister Karen Thibodeau. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
Bob or “D-Day” as he was famously nicknamed among his friends in Oshawa, travelled all over North America with his wife Elaine as a long-haul truck driving team. Their travels allowed them to make lasting friendships wherever they went. Bob had a love for sports, history and current events, making it impossible to beat him at any kind of trivia game. Does anybody need to know who invented the sport of curling? No, but Bob knew we’re sure of it. He seemed to know everything! Bob and Elaine lived outside the box giving up their brick and mortal walls for a new adventure everyday living on a 42’ Motor Yacht and eventually settling with a 43’ Motor Coach taking them to the warmth’s of Arizona and Florida where he found his love for golf and many more friendships that went with it. He was in his glory stopping for a sip of beer at every hole! Maybe now the coolers will be a little fuller on the 18th hole in memory of Bob. As his words of wisdom “Money Always Shows Up When You Need It” and “Everything Happens For a Reason” echoes in the wind. Bob you will always be in our hearts.
At Bob’s request no services are being held. Arrangements entrusted to NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North Bowmanville. Donations can be made to Animal Rescue or The Humane Society.
