Beloved husband of the late Nellie Fisher (nee Curry). Loving father of Martin (Cynthia), Janice Rose (Stephen), Richard (Patricia) and Larry Walters (Julie). Loving grandfather of Leanne Adams, James Morgan, Michael Hogue (Shelby), Nicholas Rose (Emily), Mark Fisher (Erika), Sara Gehrke (Matt), Colin Fisher, Nathan Fisher, Rebecca Walters (Ian), April Walters and Matthew Tomkins. Great-grandfather of Andrew, Rebecca and Isabella Adams; James Hogue; Maeson, Tatum & Quinn Gehrke; and Elodie Walters. Dear brother of the late Leslie Fisher, Thelma Brandt and Marjorie Finnigan.
Eric Hedley Fisher lived a long and unusual life – enough for two or three lifetimes. He’d sailed around the world and back in the merchant navy. Eric held an unwavering passion for the sea, ever drawn to its breathtaking beauty and the freedom it promised. He was a brave man and didn’t often show his emotions, although he had them. He was a good father, and the greatest gift he ever gave was to teach us to be strong and resilient. “Godspeed, old salt.”
