Obituary of Michael St Amand
It is with profound sadness and shock, we announce the very sudden passing of Michael (Mike) St. Amand on Friday, December 8th.
Mike was born in Bowmanville, Ontario at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville Hospital on September 17th, 1973. Mike was the loving and devoted husband of Erin who just celebrated their 14 years of marriage. Mike will be deeply missed by his loving parents David and Wilma, his sister Julie (Zachary) and his mother-in-law Lynn (Gary). Cherished daddy of Emily and Brian. Brother-in-law to Ryan (Celeste), and an uncle and cousin to many.
Mike was a loyal employee at Bobby C’s Dockside (formally known as Port Darlington Marina) for 29 years until its closure in 2018. Mike was highly respected as an employee and made friendships to last a lifetime. Mike was then hired by Oke Produce where he worked for 5 years. Mike’s work ethic was like no other and knew the importance of providing for his family. His number one priority, always, was to take care of those who were closest to him, and he not only rose to this undertaking but far exceeded it. His two heartbeats, Emily and Brian were part of his dream of being a family man. His role as a dad showed his patience, devotion, fun and charismatic nature and most of all his everlasting love towards his children. Mike always put others first and never asked for anything in return.
Mike was a simple man with a plethora of talents. He could cook ANYTHING, and it was always amazing, he was the true Mr. Fix-It and Mr. Build-It (came by it honestly from his dad), had the most witty, dry sense of humour, and told it how it was.
Mike will be remembered by all his family, friends, and neighbours. Anyone who had the pleasure to know Mike were privileged as he is one of the most unforgettable people this world has known.
In typical Mike fashion there will be no large service but a very modest Celebration of Life on Saturday December 16th from 2 – 4 pm at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street North Bowmanville.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
