My thoughts and prayers are with all of Gwens family and friends.
I had the pleasure of meeting Gwen many years ago and getting to know her quite well during her weekly hair appointments at the salon.
When her health started to decline, and she was no longer able to get out of the house,
I was able to bring my supplies to her and do her hair in the comfort of her home. She didn’t care that she wasn’t going anywhere, she just wanted to look good “in the mirror”.
She spoke so highly about her kids and her grandkids. I heard stories about her childhood, her career and the trailer.
When she spoke about all her great life memories, she was in her glory.
When she spoke of her family, she was full of gratitude. She truly felt blessed to have one of her daughters commit to being there and helping out every single day so that she didn’t have to ever leave her home.
She adored the team of caretakers she had. Not one of them was ever in a hurry to leave Gwen so they could get home. She was everyone’s favourite
And she loved her life and everyone in it.
She will truly be missed and forever remembered ,

I will never forget the Friday back in 1992 when I walked in to detail Gwen on a brand new lens technology called Transitions.
I was greeted with "Happy POETS Day" Suzette...my immediate reaction was Oh! I didn't know we had a POETS Day.
Gwen proceeded to tell me, Yes, dear....Every Friday is POETS Day which stands for Piss On Everything Tomorrow's Saturday....hence, I fell in love with the saying and now I have people phoning or Emailing me on Friday's saying Happy POETS Day from all over Canada.I will always keep saying Happy POETS Day on Friday's to keep her saying going as it's way better then TGIF.
Gwen, you will be really missed by so many people. My sincerest condolences to all family. Cathy, you are an angel in disguise for taking such good care of your mother for the last 10 years and I know you meant the world to her. Love, Suzette xoxo

I have so many memories with mom but one I remember so well is we were at nanny and grand dad’s cottage in Mindon when she sent myself and her brother Jim to the laundromat…I brought the clothes home and all the clothes looked Tied dyed …mom called the laundromat and complained and it was actually my fault…I poured the fabric softener all over the dry clothes…guess that’s why I like anything tied dyed
