The Symons family have such fond memories of the AOTS Mens Club Corn Roast back in the woods on Roly and Charlene's farm from our childhood. We looked forward to smothering that corn that was boiled over the fire in LOADS of butter and salt and then running around in the woods trying to scare the other kids but not get scared ourselves.
Mom and I both remember how Roly sang along side dad in the Church choir and how he and dad would sometimes exchange a look that meant someone somewhere may have sang a wrong note or held some note just a little too long.
We will always remember Roly's non assuming smile and he will be missed. So sorry for your loss.

Sending our sincere condolences to the Bowman family on Roland’s passing. He was an incredibly good person and I always enjoyed visiting with him. Roland was a part of an enjoyable day at work, especially when he was doing his morning rounds inspecting the buildings. We’d pull up a chair and have a visit and discuss all the important things in life such as Oliver tractors, livestock, crops and family (not necessarily in that order). I particularly enjoyed seeing him crack a hard smile or almost laugh when I said something unexpected or mildly outrageous. That was a victory for me and helped make for a good day at work. I was so fortunate to have worked with him and have him for a friend.
