I first met Bryan when he was in Gr. 7 and I was covering his class on just one occasion for personal reading time. He took a rather dim view of my approach to classroom control that particular day. Much to his surprise, he was assigned to my homeroom for Gr. 8 and I came to appreciate his many positive attributes. He worked really hard that year and even stayed voluntarily quite a lot after school to work and his Mom would pick him up around 5. While working, he would regale me with tales of adolescence in which his love for family always shone through. He was a wonderful story teller and could make me laugh with very little effort. I ran into him many years later in a coffee shop in Bowmanville on my way to school. Without hesitation, he introduced me to his working buddies. That was the last time I saw "Barchie" and I am so glad we had that chance encounter. My condolences to the entire family.

I had the pleasure of teaching Bryan grade 9 Physical Education at Clarke High School. “Barch” was always full of energy. His smile, laugh and enthusiasm were infectious. He was a solid leader in class and we definitely shared a mutual respect for each other.
I am truly saddened by the loss of Bryan.
My deepest condolences go out to all of Bryan’s loved ones.
Sincerely,
Brian Gillan

I had the pleasure of teaching and coaching Bryan at Clarke High School. It was always fun having Bryan in class with his sense of humor and enthusiasm. I remember Bryan bringing that same enthusiasm and more to the hockey arena. He was so happy to be playing hockey and it showed on the ice with the way he played. Along with a cast of great teammates, our Clarke Raiders won the Beatrice Ice Garden Tournament the year Bryan played. Bryan was a special part of that team.
Deepest sympathies to Bryan's family and friends.
Sincerely, Craig Morrison

My condelences to all of Bryan's family and friends. I remember Bryan as little guy at 3 yrs old, full of energy. When he came to Clarke High School in grade 9 it was great to be able to get to know him as a student. Always in the gym playing whatever was going on at the time. It was a pleasure to coach him on the hockey team. I remember Bryan skating so fast and getting the puck in the corner throwing out to Bryan Bickell who would put it in the net. We had 3 Bryan's on that line. Never forget it.

Jim, Joanne and families,…...so very very sorry on hearing of Bryan’s passing. Sending you our deepest condolences and sincerest sympathy at this time. While it has been some time since we last saw Bryan our memories recall a young lad who had an overwhelming passion and drive for the game of hockey, a speedster on ice with good hands and a solid teammate. RIP, Bryan.

There are many fond memories I have of Bryan. Fishing with Bryan, Curtis(my son), Jim & myself and Bryan hooking a 10 lbs pike. Watching him later, on a trampoline doing flips. But the one memory that will always standout in my mind is when we were staying at my friend’s place on Shea Lake B in Gatineau Quebec. We took our boat out on Danforth Lake and we just got a new wakeboard. Bryan had never been on a wakeboard before, yet as we got going and he started to feel comfortable, there he was 5 feet in the air, doing flips and landing them, just a natural athlete. Rest in peace Bryan, you gave us such wonderful memories, I just wish there were more to come.
David & Lorrie Rochon and family.
