Keith Joseph MacDonald

June 4, 1958 – June 3, 2023

Keith MacDonald, loving husband, father and brother, passed away suddenly on June 3, 2023. While the news is shocking to family, friends, neighbours and colleagues, everyone is comforted to know that he is in his eternal home with his wife, Janet, who passed away in March 2022. 

Keith was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick to Edward and Eileen MacDonald. He grew up in New Brunswick and Ontario alongside his siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles. Keith spent his early years playing hockey and riding his motorcycle.

In the summer of 1982, Keith met Janet in Riverview, New Brunswick and they were married six weeks later on September 1. They moved to Louisiana together where he attended Whites Ferry Road School of Biblical Studies. Soon, they moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia and eventually settled in Oshawa, Ontario where Keith studied Electronic Engineering Technology at Durham College and the couple raised their four children.

Over the years, Keith worked various jobs in construction, IT and most recently with Durham Region Transit as a bus driver. Keith was known to everyone as friendly and caring. He was the most generous person and was always willing to give to others in their time of need.

Keith leaves behind his children, Lindsay (Brian), Alex, Heather and Andrew (Effie); his grandchildren Cadence and Cormack; and his siblings Ken (Michael), Kathy, Tim (Cathy) and Darlene. He is predeceased by his wife and parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to organizations Keith was passionate about and planned to dedicate his time to in retirement: The Refuge and Gate 316.

Visitation will be held at HARMONY ROAD BAPTIST CHURCH, 226 Harmony Road South, Oshawa on Friday June 16th, 2023 from 10 - 11 followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am.  Private Interment at Bethesda Cemetery.  To view the service virtually please contact the funeral home at info@northcuttelliott.com
