My condolences to you Alf and to your family. Our paths initially crossed at the curling club where many good times were had. We were also connected medically. Helen always had a story and spunky spirit. I know she has had a difficult few years medically. She will be missed. RIP Helen.

Dear Alf and family, Roger and I were so sad to hear about Helen's passing. I remember that she always had something to say - usually something funny. We met at curling at the old Bowmanville Curling club and then at Saint Joseph's church. Helen was always eager to participate in all our crazy CWL events and would wear a silly hat or some other costume that was called for. She was always there to help serve a dinner or help with clean up. We will miss her joie de vivre and her kind heartedness. Our deepest condolences. Susan and Roger Wood

Hellen has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. She was always generous, kind, caring, and loving. The first to offer help and the friendliest of faces.
My deepest condolences go out to her family. She was, and always will be, a brilliantly bright light and guiding spirit.
She will always be in my heart and in the hearts of the many other people whose lives she touched.

Helen has watched over my brother and I like we were her own grandchildren since we moved to Bowmanville in August of 2000. She baked cookies and she sent over food, and she called us every single time our family was away and there was a car she didn't recognize at the front door. Even as I got well into adulthood, any time she saw me walking anywhere when she was going out, she would offer me a ride. Helen was kind down to her very bones -- the very definition of neighborly. She truly did unto others as she would have done to her and her own, and she will be sorely, sorely missed.
