Lionel was one of my most favorite people at church. It was not long after joining Tyrone United church that he turned to me after one service and told me he loved my voice and that I should join the choir. I joined for that Christmas and enjoyed it immensely. He lit up a room when he entered and while he was old enough to be my parent, I lovingly referred to him as "boyfriend". My deepest condolences to his family and many friends. Now he is with our father, the memory of him singing in our hearts.

Dear Eileen and Family - I will always remember that twinkle in Lionel’s eyes and the kind and welcoming smiles and gestures he always greeted me with at AA Meetings and Events that I attended with my husband Donnie and daughter Audra. Lionel was Donnie’s sponsor following the passing of Bob Simpson - another fine man. Eileen - As a couple you and Lionel were an inspiration to Donnie, Audra and I and we thank you for your contribution to our family wellness over the years while being members of the Hampton Group. I stoped by Mark’s Resting Place and had a chat and said a prayer while visiting Donnie and other loved ones at Mount Lawn just last week. A big hug coming your way. Keep well.

He was a wonderful man. He was my Uncle and I remember as a young child living in Hampton that he was tall. As a kid I thought of him as a a friendly giant.” Look up, look way up” I haven’t seen him in years but can still see that smile and twinkle in his eyes. The world and I am sure, many people are better because of him. I will remember him dearly and “ look up, way up” and know he is with his heavenly family now. My love and condolences to everyone.

Lionel was one of the “good men” we speak of. He was a gentleman, kind, supportive, loving, and in for a laugh. It was always a pleasure to be in his presence. He will be dearly missed by many. Love and prayers to all who knew him, especially his wife and family.

On May 25th, 1997 Lionel gave me a copy of Twentyfour Hours a Day book. I will always cherish the love and laughter that you so freely gave to all who crossed your recovery road. Sending so much love to Eileen and family. Such a fine example of One Day at a Time.

My deepest condolences to the family. Lionel was an incredible person. He always remembered my name … ‘it’s my wife’s name’ he would say. You will be missed, my friend. Eileen S
