I met and knew Wade from St. Elizabeth’s in Bowmanville. He was bright, and wry, and we both shared many interests, from amateur web-building to J-Rock, MSN catch-up convos to anime. I regret not being closer, especially after I moved cities in grade 8. I think we could have shared a lot of laughs. He’ll always be smiling in my mind’s eye, about to say something disarmingly true. RIP Wade, I’m so sorry. x

I remember all of the music you shared, and the art too. Also remember asking you countless photoshop and music questions. Rest in Peace bro, may you finally have peace and happiness.

We celebrate a life that was filled with creativity,
A talent for art, music, and all things lively.
Wade was a soul that shone bright and free,
A person whose spirit we'll always see.
His journey was filled with challenges and pain,
A society that stigmatizes, that's hard to explain.
But Wade's strength and resilience we'll always retain,
And his struggles, we'll never see as vain.
He was a son, a brother, a friend so dear,
Whose love and kindness were always so clear.
His laughter, his jokes, brought joy and cheer,
And his love for family, oh so sincere.
Wade's passion for the arts, an expression of his soul,
His sketches, designs, and music, made him whole.
We're grateful for the gifts he shared, a true role model,
And in our memories, he'll always keep his stardom.
We celebrate Wade, his life, and all he gave,
For he's now free from pain, in a better place.
His journey was not in vain, he was brave,
And in our hearts, his love and light will always remain.
Rest in peace, Wade, we'll miss you so,
But your spirit and legacy will forever glow.
And though we may shed tears as we go,
We celebrate your life, and your love that'll never go.

Wade was one of a kind. He was also one of my best friends for so many years. He had so much love, wit, humor, intelligence, depth, and endless talent. He lived his life unafraid to go against the grain, and inspired myself and so many others to do the same. My heart is in a million pieces that we weren’t able to give you the help you needed, and I just am relieved your heart can have peace ❤️ I love you so much weenie
To his family, I am sending you all so much love, and am so deeply sorry for your loss, he spoke of you all often and you meant the world to him

My deepest condolences to the Westlake Family and everyone who loved Wade. I had the privilege of knowing wade since 6th grade. When I got sick in Gr7 he so sweetly made the effort to come bring me a stack of People Magazines and visit me at the hospital to make sure I was ok. Wade and I remained friends into adulthood and we often spoke on the phone and via text, right up until a few days before his passing. I will miss our long conversations where we would cover a seemingly never ending multitude of topics. We had many heart to hearts over the years. I loved his strong opinions, his wit and his ability to keep you thinking with his discussions and take on the world. He had a unique and intriguing view of the world, which he expressed in his music, art and his writing. His laugh was infectious; I hope that I never forget what it sounded like during our long Conversations. Wade had the rare ability to be in the midst of chaos in his own mind and yet to still always take the time to ask how others were doing. I wish that there was more I could’ve done to help Wade through his struggles. I will miss our deep conversations. Jacob, my deepest condolences, your brother often spoke of you in the most loving way and he wanted all of the best things for you in this world. He loved you deerly.
I can’t believe you’re gone Wade, and I hope that you are at peace my friend. Sending you love. Julia

I remember Wade as a student in a class I taught at St. Stephen Secondary. I recall his quick humour, and how he would make us laugh with his stories. I remember him as being insightful and mature beyond his age. He noticed, and was saddened by the harshness and pain of our world. Wade was courageous in speaking up against injustice, even when some of his classmates didn’t understand because they didn’t see what he saw. I remember that he was very kind and supportive to others. I offer my deepest condolences to Wade’s family and friends.

I am so very heartbroken to learn of Wade’s passing.
From the moment I, and I’m sure all others had the chance to get to know hm, it became obvious Wade was talented. From his love and passion for making music, to his visual arts by means of multiple media, his eye for photography and his aesthetic taste, Wade was constantly looking for outputs for his creativity.
I will remember his sense of humor, his sense of empathy, his love of his family and friends. His tendency to cry during sappy TV commercials, his infectious and endearing smile, and his enduring curiosity.
I will also remember getting lost with him in a forest in the middle of the night, convincing ourselves we were being chased by a Chupacabra, running for our lives and crying from laughter the second we “escaped”.
My deepest condolences to Wade’s family and friends. May he rest forever in peace.
I will love and remember you always, Mr.

I met Wade when we were 8 years old and we remained friends into adulthood, even though we lived in different cities. The memory wade and I used to laugh at the most was in grade 5 at st Elizabeth school when we painted this giant paper mache tree in the front foyer. We loved the freedom being out of class and had no idea why we were chosen, but we loved it. We told jokes and wore hideous clothes that mom said it was ok we got paint on. He was a true treasure to have as a friend and I will always miss him. Until we meet again, Wade. Love you.

I remember the day Wade was born because I was at the payphone in high-school calling Mum to ask details. And Les gave me an 8x10 of his first bath and it said on the back and I quote " to auntie Jay Jay because I know how much you love nudity" I think the world should make shirts and wear Wade's life mattered because it did. Living with the torment of mental health disease is horrible for its sufferer and their family. Wade was sweet, kind and so creative. And I pray Matt found him in heaven and they are living it up with Mum, Rita, Nanna, auntie Joanie and all our relatives. I imagine him happy and full of potential.

I am so sorry to the Westlake family for the loss of Wade, and hope you find comfort in his memory and each other. Wade was a friend of mine in high school, and I have nothing but fond and funny memories with him. He made that time of my life brighter. I will always remember his amazing wit and sarcasm. He was so sweet and genuine & absolutely hilarious; we used to be in tears laughing most times.
I truly hope he has found peace and contentment, no one is more deserving.

Wade was my closest friend growing up. My love is with Jacob and the rest of Wade’s family. I’ve been spending the last few days listening to Wade’s music, other music we enjoyed together, and going through many photos.
Let’s remember his silly faces, his long standing laugh, and of course his bear hugs. I’ll never stop loving you Wade!
