Gord, Carly and I are late receiving this very, very sad news. Please accept our deepest condolences. We have some very fond memories of sharing time around the girls volleyball teams. Kathy was most certainly a ‘force of nature.’ One we will sorely miss. Patti, Gord and Carly Ley.

I was heartbroken to hear of Kathy's passing ... such a difficult and sad time for all of you...
Kathy's love and her powerful and courageous spirit lives on each of you and Josie too! I'll always remember Kathy around our team as she was a constant support to Caley and our Varsity Blues volleyball program over the years while Caley was at U of T - she could always be seen in the stands, sometimes at social occasions off the court LOL and even came to support us on the road...that is why I'm sharing this memory of her - I believe this picture was taken when she came to watch us play in Thunder Bay.
Sending love, hugs and comforting & peaceful energy your way...Kristine, Doug & our Varsity Blues Women's Volleyball community

Don, Caley and James, I’m so sorry for your loss. I was on Katherine’s sales team at Philips Lifeline and was honoured to have her as a coach, mentor and friend. I think about Katherine often and reflect fondly of what she taught me and the support she provided during tough times. I will never forget her and will alway think how kind and caring she was.
I’m so very sorry,
Stacy Mitchell

Don, Caley and James, we are so sorry for your loss. Hearing the news of Kathy's passing was very sobering. It has brought back many cherished memories of our times at Presqu'ile and the large community of family and friends that she loved.
Her beauty, charm, sense of humour and wit will always stay with us. That, combined with her leadership skills, made her an amazing person to know. Her ability to quickly catch up with people she knew and size up those she didn't was impressive. Never afraid to speak her mind. She would always give you the "straight goods" or deliver a message that needed to be said.
All that and so much fun to be around. She enriched the lives of everyone around her. Just a great person to have had the privilege to know.
John and Kathi Mason

We are devastated to lose our Kath, fearless leader of all things fun on Lilac Lane, Presqu’ile. I first met Kath when Don brought her to Presqu’ile. We became family at once. We raised our children on the same lawn, the same docks and in the same lane of cottages. She was a remarkable role model to me (7years younger) in so many ways, the way she supported her family, fiercely raised her children all while forging a fabulous, successful career. Don, Caley, Chuck, Josie and James, our hearts break for your loss. Rest assured that we will be right there with you to celebrate and feel her spirit as we continue Kath’s Lilac Lane traditions, bonfires, antique hunting, signature cocktail parties and communal dinners, and lots of Molkky just to name a few. I know that she will be right there with us all. Don, Jamie, Robyn and I send you our very deepest condolences and love as you walk these next miles.❤️

My deepest condolences... I enjoyed working with Katherine for over 10 years as part the Lifeline sales team in Ontario.. Katherine inspired the whole team through her leadership and caring personality. I remember how she used to plan the team's meeting before Christmas at the office and deliver hand-written card personally to each one of us. She was a great leader, colleague and friend!
Rest in Peace Katherine...

I was always happy to be included in the many family get togethers that Kathy hosted at the family cottage on Lilac Lane. It provided the opportunity for another generation to learn about all of the good times enjoyed by those of us fortunate enough to spend our summers at Presqu’ile. She will be greatly missed. All my love to Don and family.

Katherine was a valued team member, friendly, trusted, a performer you could always count on. She always would let you know what she had on her mind.
Katherine was appreciated by all and especially her central team members.
Above all Katherine’s passion was to her family, husband, children, and grandchildren.
She will be missed.
My most sincere condolences to the whole family.

I will miss my authentic friend. First person I would call with good or bad news. ”Maude” told it like it was and I cherished that. We met in the 80’s at Procter & Gamble and became besties for the next 4 decades. Right On Maude. You are loved xo

I am so sorry to hear this. I always loved Kathy’s sense of humour and good nature. I can hear her voice and laughter now. She babysat Molly and I and would regularly reread The Ugly Duckling to us every time she babysat. I always looked up to her when we were in Highschool and thought she was the coolest. My heart goes out to family and Sue my friend who I know loved Kathy SO much. Kathy was an AMAZING person. My deepest condolences to everyone in the family.

To the family of Katherine Venn, I am so sorry for your great loss. Katherine was an amazing mentor, a fighter, a true leader so caring of all her team members. I will miss calling her for her advices. I wish I could have told her that I just got back from Africa and saw a giant statue of The Amazone, the first woman warrior who reminded me of her! I also wish I could have told her that my daughter named her baby girl Kailey! I will miss you mama goose! xxx Isabelle Desfossés

Oh my beautiful friend. How truly blessed I was to have known Katherine. Not only was Katherine a trusted colleague and business leader, she was brilliant woman who could also make you laugh until you cried….her dry wit and laugh lit up my heart and soul. We worked hard but oh how we played hard! Memories that I will cherish forever. How Katherine loved her family. My sincere condolences to Don, Caley, James, Chuck and adorable Josie. Rest in peace, Katherine. Forever loved.

My very first friend in Canada over 40 years ago, and always, always there ever since. The first to cheer you on...or tell you the truths you needed to hear, all with so much love and a wee bit o' pragmatic spice. The best cook, the best party planner, the best kitchen organizer when you moved and a woman who embraced every aspect of her life with the same love, grace, integrity, enthusiasm and the most wicked sense of humour. She lived as we all should; large, purposeful, all-in and on her own terms. May cocktails at sunset always be perfect in heaven, as you will be missed but somehow present at every one down here. Love and Godspeed in the next plane Kath, and much love to Caley, James and Don, and all of us who were blessed by her presence in their lives and feel this loss so deeply.
