To Earl’s family and friends. I was so sorry to hear of Earl’s passing. There are good guys and then there are superb individuals, Earl was one of the latter, in every sense of the description. I had the privilege of working alongside Earl as a fellow Plumber many years ago. He was a top notch tradesman, admired by many and greatly respected by all. We had been out of touch for the past 25 years or so, however, Earl often crossed my mind. Memories are meant to be cherished and Earl’s will live on with family and friends. Please accept my deepest condolences.

We are very sorry to hear of Earl's passing. The house on Roser Crescent in the late 70's and 80's was a second home for us kids hanging out with Sheri, Suzie and Babes, which were memorable times and Earl was always kind enough to tolerate the loud chaos that came with their house being a favorite gathering spot for the kids in the neighborhood. Many memories and stories stem from that household and we cherish them to this day. When we began frequenting the house they had 6 kids , Johnny Gordy, Sheri, Suzie, Cindy and baby Darcy who everyone fought over to hold . Memories of Darcy following his dad around wanting to assist in anything Earl was doing was an adorable bond. Earl was quite the chef and Darcy was a quick learn being he would wrap a hotdog with bacon, cheese and a toothpick at the age of 4 showing his dad that he had skills. To this day NO one makes scalloped potatoes like Earl did and we will challenge anyone to try lol. As a father, Earl teaching Suzie and Darcy how to ride bikes and tie their shoe laces were moments we remember being he had better patience than most dads of that era and made them feel confidence in their achievements. Little moments are sometimes the biggest memories for building confidence. Earl and Darcy with their love of hockey was also a great bond to witness, as was witnessing Earl survive daughters dating and learning how to drive.. If any of his daughters or girls visiting had a break-up with their boyfriend Earl would reassure them that they would be okay and not to worry. That being said, Earl attended quite a few weddings for these girls and did so with a sense of "I told you so". Again, Earl loved his family and friends and was there if you needed him.
Earl may have lived in Ontario, but his true love and sense of pride was the province he was born and raised in, Prince Edward Island. When his father Howard came up to visit you could see how proud he was of his son Earl and the man he became. Earl was proud to be a Kinsmen and continued representing with charities affiliated with the Kinsmen throughout the years. Earl was also proud to be a part of a great Union and the kids in the neighborhood designated him the plumber/mechanic that fixed every bike that was in need and he would later give great advice when we all started looking to purchase our first cars. A lot of great advice was given and words that would humble you if you were in need of it. We know when Earl crossed over into Heaven his family and friends who were departed greeted him with lobster and a cold beer and he was celebrated into eternal life. Everyone knew Earl loved Lobsterfest and getting up to dance if there was a dance floor... I believe Sheri and her family called it "THE EARL-SHUFFLE" , so we hope Earl is doing his shuffle and dancing up a storm, enjoying card games and knowing we appreciated the time we had with him, he truly impacted many lives and we wish him eternal happiness in Heaven. God Bless him and his transition into eternal life.
This isn't "Goodbye", but "See you later".
Sending love and light to his family and friends.

We offer our condolences to Earl's family for the loss of a real champion. He worked very hard to raise funds for the Kinsmen Club of Bowmanville and was the impetus behind our hugely successful Lobsterfest at the Newcastle Town Hall. He worked hard at his job and we shared a ride into Toronto when he was taking some additional courses at the union hall. Most of all he was as pleasant a person as you could find to share an evening with and will be missed by many of his friends.
