Sincere condolences to Helen’s family and extended family of friends.
I am one of the 6 pesky Linton kids growing up as neighbours of the
“Shea” family. I remember only too well the day they all moved into the
Queen Street Farm. We were town kids introduced to country life
by this wonderful family. A horse, tractor, chickens, eggs, and “oh” the enormous
gardens (often raided by 6 hungry kids), incredible cookies in the huge
country kitchen and an invitation to sit on the front veranda. As children,
we always seemed to gravitate to the farm property…there was nothing like
it and we got into lots of trouble, yet always forgotten until the next time!
Helen and Jim were the cutest couple, stopping their morning chores to walk arm
in arm uptown for a coffee break. As years past and Helen was the only remaining
original neighbour left, I would drop in for a welcomed visit and an interesting chat.
After moving back to NS four years ago, I often thought of Helen and was saddened to
hear of her passing. She lived a full life and would not have wanted it any other way.
It was a pleasure to have known Helen and her family, I cherish my childhood memories of
having them as neighbours.

Helen was a very fine and interesting and interested lady. It was obvious that she had many friends who thought the same things. She and Jim were a great couple and it would have done anyone's heart good to watch them dance together ... totally in unison and a style well-developed over many years. She was always at the Concerts in the Park and always happy to see everyone. She was a great inspiration for anyone to follow. She will be happy to be re-united with Jim and she will be cherished in heaven just as she was here. We were so happy to have known these wonderful people. May God richly bless their souls. I was so happy to spend sometime with my Aunt back in September 2022. Many years of memories for me as she was a second mom to me. I send along hugs with you to mom & my other aunt Margaret. Rip Aunt Helen.
