Obituary of David Cecchetto
David Cecchetto
With broken hearts we announce the sudden
passing of our loving husband, father and Papa on November 10th, 2022
David was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. He is survived by the love of his life Patti (nee Werry) of 47 years. A devoted and loving dad to Ryan (Jessica) and Darren (Kristen). Adoring Papa to Nicholas, Alixandra and his fur grand-babies. Brother of Nancy Ceti (Adelmo). Predeceased by his parents Albert and Marie and siblings Ricky, JoAnne and Marlene (David). Loved by “Mom” Joy Werry (the late Ted). Brother-in-law to Donna, Ralph and Lee Ann (Clar). Forever remembered by nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Always a hard worker, David devoted 40 years working for Inco (Vale) Sudbury in the Copper Cliff Smelter. David and Patti retired in Bowmanville to be closer to their family. They enjoyed and were grateful for many yearly vacations to the sun, and a dream come true Mediterranean Cruise in 2019.
David was kind, loving and generous with his time, always helping family, friends and neighbours. He was a devoted Blood Donor, reaching over 100 donations.
David will be remembered as the King of “corny jokes”, a Pepsi connoisseur, always capturing a moment by taking a photo and his love of music from the 60’s.
Sincere thanks and gratitude to his healthcare providers at Bowmanville Lakeridge 2nd floor and Oshawa 5G.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Tyrone Community Centre, 2716 Concession Road on Friday, November 18th, 2022 at 2:00pm.
Donations may be made to Autism Home Base Durham or a Charity of your Choice.
You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he would want:
Smile, open your eyes love and go on.
