EDGAR BODO STOYKE
(1963-2022)
At age 58, Ed passed away on October 24, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa surrounded by his family.
Beloved husband of Thess for 22 years. They enjoyed their married life together building a family that they dreamt of, constantly with each other working passionately with every projects and upgrades in their home and garden. Making sure the neighborhood enjoys passing by a beautiful garden brimming with beautiful lights and decorations at Christmas season.
Loving dad, an inspiration and a best friend to Daphne and Mason. Ed will be remembered so much for his love in celebrating and cooking his Thanksgiving dinner for his family.
Predeceased by his parents, Udo and Margarethe Stoyke and parents-in-law Delfin and Dolores Masagca.
Remembered and cherished by his sister Andrea Stoyke and sister-in-law Elizabeth (Jeff) Naorbe. Adored by nieces Claudia and Margaux, as well as many other family and friends.
Ed was born and raised in St. Catharines, ON. Remembered by friends and classmates as a kindhearted person with a great sense of humour. In 2002, Ed moved to Bowmanville with his wife, Thess and Daphne and in 2006 Mason was born. He was a dedicated worker at General Motors for 31 years and member of the Local 222.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the hardworking and dedicated staff and nurses of Lakeridge Health CCU Station 2
Prayers and emotional support, words of comfort and tight hugs from friends, co-workers and family here and in the Philippines kept Ed’s loved ones never surrendered during this battle with the dreaded disease.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct 27th from 12 noon to 1pm at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville and the funeral service will begin afterwards at 1pm.
Oct. 30 (Sunday) viewing between 6 to 8 pm at Pleasantview Funeral Homes at 2250 Highway 20, Fonthill, Ontario
Oct 31 (Monday) Grace Lutheran Church 213 Linwell Rd, St. Catharines, On
10:00 am - Brief visitation at the library church
11:00 am - Church service
12:00 pm - Luncheon downstairs of the church
1:30 pm - Head to Pleasantview Cemetery
2:30 - Burial
