Obituary of Edna Louise Prouty

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Louise Prouty (née Thomas) aged 95 at Heritage Green Nursing Home, Stoney Creek on Friday, September 30th, 2022.

Born to Stanley and Elizabeth Thomas in St John’s, Newfoundland, she came to mainland Canada in 1947 to marry Ivan, her beloved companion and husband for 54 years. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Doting grandmother of Melita Reid (Jerry), Jennifer Walsh (Rob), Sean Prouty (Daniella), Melissa Philipps (Brent), Amanda Prouty, Krista Prouty, Andrea Wood, Stefanie Wood, Gregory Wood, Edward Geay (Emilie), Emma Cohuaud (Mickaël) and Rebecca Geay

A graduate of McMaster University, Louise enjoyed a satisfying career as a much loved Kindergarten teacher in     Dundas, Ontario.
