There was always such a kindness and strength about Lloyd in the best and the hardest of times. Like many others, I came to delight in miniature horses and donkeys thanks to Lloyd - and my delight was just a reflection of the joy in his eyes as he introduced me to them one a time... I have wonderful memories of Lloyd sitting in the church office at Tyrone and making me laugh, sharing his challenges, helping improve the community and solve conflicts and explaining to me why Llamas were the best protectors of sheep. His love of life and strength in adversity continue to impact me in ways that I didn't fully realize until I heard of his passing. My heart and prayers belong to those who are grieving and especially his sister Dot.

My sincere sympathy to all of the Skinner family. Lloyd and Shirl were great friends to us and we spent many happy times together, not all at sheep events!!
My first memory of Lloyd was at the "Royal" in about 1983 where I was watching him trim a ram for the show later that day. Admiring his artistry, I asked if he would teach me how to do this precise craft. He said; "I won't teach you, but you can watch and learn anytime. Twenty years later, when Lloyd couldn't go to the Royal because of surgery, he asked if I would help look after the sheep for the show. That was the finest compliment anyone could have given!! To be honest, though, he had prepared them for the most part ahead of time!

I remember about one day into my ministry at Enniskillen Tyrone United Church, a car pulled up to the church next to me. A man rolled down his window and said "Are you the new Minister?" I replied "I am" He said "I am Lloyd Skinner, are you busy? Do you have time for a drive?" I said "Sure" and got in. I thought to myself...this is how disappearance stories start...lol. Lloyd took me up into the hills behind his place to show me the beautiful colours and landscapes of Tyrone.
Another time I showed up at Lloyd's place, walked in the door and said "Someone told me your wife got a mini pig from the family as a gift..." He replied "That's right..." I said "Sandy my wife got one for a birthday present I need your help to know what to expect..." These were but a couple of the memorable experiences I had with Lloyd. Sending Lee and family my prayers and love as they prepare to send Lloyd home to God.

Lloyd was a great caretaker of livestock. He was a keen breeder and exhibitor of sheep and market hogs, National and Internationally.
A great competitor in the show ring and when the showing was done a good friend.

Ted, Ann, Lynn, Lee, Margie, Dorothy, Doris, Arnold, Joanne, Keith, Cindy & families, please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Lloyd. I have known Lloyd my whole life and he and Shirley remained lifelong friends with my parents, Beth and Bill Rae. His love of the land was only outdone by his love of family, friends and sheep. Lloyd will be remembered for the gentleman he was and the lasting imprint he left on the village of Tyrone and surrounding area with the family he and Shirley raised. Our family will always be thankful for the care and respect he gave to our Mom. It is our hope that your cherished memories of Lloyd will sustain you all in the coming days as you deal with the loss of Lloyd. Bill and Penny Austin (nee Rae)
