My condolences to all of you in the Van Belle family. So very sad to hear about Carl’s death. What a beautiful tribute you all made to him at his service. I loved hearing about your family life together. What a loving person he was. I remember his warm smile when shopping in the store. I also remember him as a young kid as we all grew up together in Bowmanville. I have always appreciated the great service we have received from Van Belle Gardens. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

We're sorry to hear of Carl's passing and extend our condolences to the VanBelle and VandePol families. We remember Carl's warmth in conversations around school life at Knox and Durham and his commitment to Christian Education. I remember an extended conversation while bringing a class trip to the VanBelle home for a school pool party with Carl about how he was overwhelmed with God's blessings for himself and his family. May you find comfort in God's care as you celebrate his life and deeply feel his absence at this time.

Dear Van Belle Family
It has been such sad news of Carl's illness and now his passing. We remember him back in highschool at BHS and Youth Group at Rehoboth CRC as such a kind, easy going and happy person. Our kids went to Knox Christian School and Durham Christian High School together and he was a very wise, calm and also fun loving father to his four girls. Our heartfelt condolences go to Karen, Sarah, Amanda, Michelle and Carlene and their families. Martha and Al and your family, Ruth, Jackie and Paul. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all

I have found it difficult to find the right words to express to Ruth and Martha how truly painful the news of Carl's illness and passing has been. While I do not know the entire family, what I do know is that we all have been blessed by this gentle giant of a man, with a heart of gold. This past winter season was the most difficult in my 23 years in wholesale. I think the entire industry felt it. This amazing human, knowing how down in the dumps I was took the time to come and see me in Mississauga and deliver a gift. What he didn't know was that "he" was the gift, to all of us. So, thank you Van Belle family for sharing him. I will miss him very much.

It is with heavy hearts that we digest the news of Carl's passing into glory. Heavy because his presence will no longer be travelling an earthly journey with those who love him. We will always remember Carl as a steady, fun-loving, and generous Christian man. Talking to Carl made you feel noticed and appreciated. We thank the Lord for the presence and person of Carl in our lives and in the Bowmanville community. May the Lord provide the needed comfort and peace to Karen and her family as they travel this difficult road. May the Lord also provide the comfort of picturing Carl beside his beloved Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. With much Christian love and care, George and Charlene Petrusma.

Although Carl was a second cousin to me, he always felt much closer. I spent 5 summers working along side Carl at the garden center and I still have wonderful memories of those years to this day. We shared many laughs, jokes, ambitions, and even a few struggles. Over the years he has impacted the lives of his family, friends and community in so many positive ways. I cant even imagine him gone. I will miss him. May all the wonderful memories of him resonate in in all our hearts for years to come. May God hold all your family close to him as you go through this trying time.

I had the pleasure to work with Carl in the floral industry. I am truly saddened to hear of his passing. My sincere condolences to his family, and the Belle team. He was a kind and fun buyer. Aside from work and some light political talk, he would speak of his loving wife and 4 daughters. We connected, once he heard I had a teenage daughter and twin younger boys. He would share stories of "kidding" with his wife as well as "hair" stories of his girls growing up. He was always a pleasure to work with. I pray those who love him, find comfort remembering the fun times shared with him.

Carl and his family were at the fore front of the floral business in Durham region and as a fellow past florist it was always a pleasure to speak with Carl on the phone for our floral needs. He always took great care for us with filling our orders and joking around on the phone. We will always remember him as a great person and caring business man. Thankyou Carl for all you have done. I was saddened to hear of Carl's passing. I worked at the Courtice and North Oshawa stores, often with Carl at the Courtice garden centre. We were both teens and always found time to laugh together on the evening shifts when things settled down. In recent years, my husband and I would visit the Christmas Open Houses and always be met with his broad smile and a few memories about those days. My sincere condolences to Carl's wife and daughters and families, his siblings, and to Harry. I am also keeping the staff of Van Belle Flowers in my thoughts, both past and present. May you all find comfort in your memories of Carl.

Dear Karen, children and family,
We hereby we wish to express our sincerest condolences to you all with the loss of your dear husband, father, son, and brother. With great dismay we heard that the Lord, in His unfathomable wisdom has relieved him from this temporal life.
What a calling for us all, small and great, old and young. Memento Mori!! Remember to die! What a warning for us all. Also our life will one day be cut off - at God’s time and in His manner – and how will it then be with us?
May the Lord be near you and under gird for you. May he strengthen and comfort you in this great loss, but may He also give you the unction of His Spirit. May He grant, that you may also witness what David spoke of in Psalm 27:
I had fainted, unless I had believed so see the goodness of the
LORD in the land of the living.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen
thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
We commend you unto the Lord,
Love,
Simon and Anne Bax
