We were so shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend Greta. The Down family has been an extended family to ours in Teeswater for many years. We will cherish the memories of our get-togethers with Greta and her family, whether it was camping here on our farm, or doing fundraising concerts at her church. We will remember her fondly as a special and dynamic lady who put her family, friends and her church first in her life. She will be greatly missed.

Seeing Greta’s obituary in the newspaper was something of a shock. I am so sorry for your loss. She was such a wonderful and kind lady. I have very fond memories from when I was younger, and then from when she would shop at the store. She was a great model! I know she will be missed terribly.

Dear Paul, Scott, Catharine, Ken, Gail and Betty Lou and families - - Jane and I send our most sincere sympathy in your loss of Greta. This is a huge loss, not only in your family but in the entire community. Greta was involved in so many things and she put her heart and soul into each one of them. As for me, she was an outstanding alto choir member and totally supportive in all ways. When she takes her place in the Heavenly Choir and the choir director has them sing, "The Church in the Wildwood", they're all going to really step up in the chorus of the hymn and the altos take the lead with: "Oh, come, come, come, come . . . " as there was just no holding Greta back whenever we got to that part. She was the same in all things, encouraging people to "come" and be a part of things . . . and they did. We need people with that enthusiasm. She will be adored in Heaven as she was here on earth. Years ago, I had the privilege to work with Rev. Stanley Snowden, Greta's brother. He, too, was an encourager! May God's Peace and Strength support all of you as you deal with Greta's loss in the days ahead. How reassuring it is to know that she'll be a bright heavenly star and one of the best angels ever. God Bless all of you. Jane and Ashton
