Obituary of Karen Isabel Mason Arthurs
Karen Isabel (nee Mason) Arthurs
Born November 26, 1952. It is with profound sadness that the family of Karen Arthurs announce her sudden passing on Thursday, June 9th, 2022 at Bowmanville Hospital as she transitioned onto her next journey.
Amongst the family and friends beside Karen, were her beloved husband, best friend and soulmate, Gary, as well as her cherished daughter and greatest joy, Cindy, her adored son-in-law, Rohan (virtually), as well as Elizabeth, Katherine, Pamela, and Lisa.
Predeceased by her parents, Harry and Gladys Mason (nee Olsen), as well as her brother-in-law, Bill Manton. Karen will be deeply missed by so many, especially Gary, Cindy (Rohan), her sister, Caroline, beloved nieces Katherine, Sandra (Rob), Sharon, Elizabeth (Jim) and Pamela (Neil) as well as her great-nieces Everleigh, and Honor, great-nephew, Jakob, Emmily, Erika, Rebekah, extended family Rebecca, Lisa (Lino), Lucas, and many more who touched her life over the years – all of whom brought her happiness. Of course, we cannot leave out Miss Katie (cat).
Karen’s generous heart knew no bounds, her strength and love for others was evident in the people who surrounded her. The compassion and kindness she showed towards others, often meant a busy household of Cindy’s numerous friends who flocked to her house, many turning into family. Offering anything from ‘mom-vice’, her witty sense of humour, a warm hug, or a compassionate ear to listen, Karen loved her “daughters” and “sons,” and along with their own families, they too, honour her memory and continue her spirit of kindness and goodwill. She was truly “one-of-a-kind”, and she will be greatly missed.
Karen’s family would like to thank Deanne of the ICU nursing staff of Bowmanville Hospital for her care and communication.
