Henk encouraged me to put chisels to wood by showing it was possible to bring magic out in a piece of firewood. When he saw some of my crude attempts, he said, "Good job. Keep it up." Those simple but honest words meant more to me than praise and prizes. The last time I saw Henk was at Dave and Carol's for a "Covid" Christmas dinner. As I was leaving I asked Henk if I could hug him. He said "Ja, as long as you social distance." This is how I will remember Henk Kobes.
