Obituary of Lois Moore

It is with a broken heart the family of Lois Moore must announce her passing.

Lois was born in 1933 to Oliver and Nellie Knapp and grew up in Orono with predeceased siblings Ab, Herb, Ern, Ross, and her beloved Jr and Kate, who she was extremely close to.

Lois attended a one room schoolhouse and went on to work at Smith Box factory and the Orono forestry for years until she got a job at Avery Dennison in Bowmanville where she retired from.

She married her lifelong love Kenneth Moore (1934-1993) and had three daughters, Deborah (Gary), Melany (Earl) and Karen (Ian).  As years passed, grandchildren Dawn, Marsha (Joe), Luke, and Kristen (Nic) and chosen grandson Wes came into the family and went on to bring great grandchildren Cassidy, Madison, Jessica and Max, and to fill her heart even more great great grandchildren Jaxson, Bentley and Kiara.

Nothing brought Lois more joy than her family of all generations being at the house whether for a huge family dinner or an unexpected visit.  She loved updates and pictures and attended as many of the kids' events as she could.  She was on social media to keep up with their activities as she found it more difficult to connect in person through Covid, she was present with comments and messages and loved scrolling through pictures.

Through the years Lois enjoyed various needlecrafts and was an avid historical novel reader.  Her baking was legendary, and she was an active member of the Orono Fish and Hunt Club.  A skilled equestrian, she was confident and knowledgeable around horses and enjoyed having them long after she gave up riding. Through the years she enjoyed being outside working on the lawn or in the gardens and loved being out on her riding lawn mower.

But absolutely nothing brought more joy and comfort than having her family in touch however they could and to share a laugh with them.

That laugh will be greatly missed.
