Our family looked to Peggy to report the pulse of Port Hope. Nice to learn that her columns also appeared in area newspapers.
Bless her for her work as”a bedside volunteer” for Northumberland Lakeshore Hospice.
Left us too young. Marjorie Sorrell and family.

We moved in just up the road from Roy and Marion Foster in 1974 when Peggy was living up north. By the time she moved back to Port Hope I felt that I already knew her. The love and pride her parents expressed when they spoke of her spoke volumns. I was pregnant with my second son at the time and Peggy was having Sarah. Right off the bat I knew that I was lucky to have found a friend who was a kind, loving, and caring individual (pretty much like the whole Foster family).
I have missed seeing Peggy around town these last few years, but she had told me of the struggle she was facing and I knew it was to be expected.
My husband Hal and I are so sorry to hear of Peggy's passing. I know that there are no words that I could say that would ease the pain that her family and close friends are feeling right now. I wish there were. My love and prayers go out to all of you.

Peggy was my best friend all through highschool, we had such fun together and I have lovely memories of her kindness, care and wonderful smile. She had a lovely singing voice and enjoyed clubs and sports at highschool, but writing was her passion. As we enjoyed motherhood and new adventures and careers we saw each other often on my trips back to Ontario to visit family. It was my privledge and good fortune to have such a dear friend...the last time I visited Peggy she waved good bye as she happily walked Polly along the street.
My deepest sympathies to Sarah and Josh and family and to Peggy's mother Marion, and siblings Ann, Reid and Roy Allen.
An Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Our deepest sympathies to Sarah and family. Some of our fondest memories were of Peggy’s daughter and our daughters escapades as they were growing up. Peggy and I would shake our heads and laugh. We will always hold those memories close to our hearts. Sincerest condolences Mike Debi Godin

To Sarah and family,
My thoughts and love are sent to you as you all grieve the loss of Peggy. Such a tragic struggle but now she is at peace, as I hope that eventually you will be also, treasuring all your memories. Peggy was a wonderful friend, giving of herself with joy to all. Such a beautiful laugh! We spent many hours together working within various aspects of our local hospice and we were blessed with a special friendship.
Affectionately,
Carol

Sarah and family. It is with my deepest sympathy for your loss. Peggy will be missed by a community as well as family and friends. She was a true, empathetic, sincere and beloved friend. I still have the Christmas cactus she wanted me to have. It is flourishing. It reminds me of your mother every day. In fact I named it Peggy the day I took it home three years ago. I'm truly sorry for all of our loss. Marg. Lachner.
