Suzanne, I had typed in "Obituaries TVOntario" and was stunned to see Brian's photo and saddened to read his obituary. I received a copy of TVOntario's "Primetimers" magazine last summer that contained Brian's email address...from that we exchanged some wonderful, lengthy emails, updating our lives to each other. I've been thinking recently that it was time to make contact again...sorry I didn't. Brian had a keen mind and superb technical editing skills that made everyone who came to him for his editing services look great. He told me of his health situation that he went through last spring, but said he was keeping up with his physiotherapy and then went on to recount his pride in his/your kids' successes. He gave a lot of creativity, effort, knowledge and credibility to TVOntario and I and others will miss him. Deepest condolences to you Suzanne and to Matt, Sarah and Peter.

As a colleague, I was, of course, impressed by Brian's extensive knowledge and capability, always pushing the boundaries. But it was his sense of style and his flair as he worked that remains with me. It was always a pleasure to watch Brian edit, to watch his fingers dance on the keyboard. So many years later, I still catch myself emulating his style, reminding me how much he enjoyed what he did. I was saddened to hear of his passing and am so sorry for your (and our) loss.

Brian and I were teenage high school buddies, driving around town in his old black VW bug.
We shared happiness and sadness, as we lost many classmates to one fate or another. While visiting his Navy son on Vancouver Island last year, we walked a small provincial park, and lunched together with his lovely wife. My condolences to his family in his sudden departure from our lives. May God bless him, and all his family

I am writing this on my iPad. I also know how to use my iPhone…….All thanks to Brian. Brian was an absolutely amazing, patient, informative, and hilarious tech teacher at the OSCC55+, Oshawa Senior Community Centres, both at Northview and John Street. He had the ability to impart the knowledge of complex technology in its simplest forms so that we seniors could become comfortable and competent using it. We were once privy to Brian’s wife and dog entering the kitchen of their house as Brian extolled the virtues of home security technology. (He had forewarned her that we would be visiting virtually!) I hadn't seen Brian for the past 15 years. Back then, I ran into him a few times when he worked at the Apple Store in the Eaton's Centre. Each time, we had a nice chat and caught up on high school memories and friends. I always knew he was a nice person, and reading his obituary just confirms my belief.

I’m so sorry to hear about Brian and wish to pass my condolences to Suzanne and your family.
I met Brian when I took an iPad course at Northview Senior Centre that Brian was teaching.
Brian’s dad Jack taught me the Ham Radio course for both certificates (Basic and the Advance)
at the Bowmanville High School and when I met Brian it was as if I knew Brian for a long time. Both
Jack and Brian were great teachers and leaders in their field with their humour on the side.
I certainly appreciated Brian’s help.

I am still trying to wrap my head around this. Brian and I were so close as cousins. We had so much fun together with fond memories of the family reunions held each summer when we were kids in Auntie Kay’s backyard. I remember picking him up at high school one day, he skipped school that afternoon and we drove around Mosport and just goofed off. So many memories. My condolences to Suzanne, kids, and grandkids. It is with shock and sadness that we learned of the death of Brian. Good friends and neighbours "up the road" from our family farm on Trulls Rd., Brian always was "ageless" in our minds. With his deep voice and classic, handsome looks, he could easily have been on screen in the environment where he worked.
When he returned to Canada in the 70's, he brought his family home back to life. Brian's Mother, Elsie, was a very close friend of Keith's Mother, Marjorie Worden and thus the family connection continued. We especially recall the hours of time that Brian and Suzanne gave to our children, Richard and Elisabeth and our niece, Carissa, on a personal level and also as leaders of the Ebenezer Youth Group. They provided the respected adult presence that educated, encouraged and provided a safe space for the young people in our community.
Brian and Suzanne walked with their young children down our road and, on occasion, stopped in for a visit and cookies and milk. They bought our Volvo station wagon to accommodate their growing family, named it and drove it to the end of its days!
The only consolation in this time of loss is that Brian expressed his feelings in saying "his life was perfect"!
He will be missed and remembered!
