Condolences to Ron's family and many many friends. I was fortunate to get to know and work with Ron during my time as Mosport Track Manager. We became close friends and shared many fine evenings after work at the track or at his home. As people do, I thought of him often, and thought "I should look him up next time I get to Bowmanville". He helped me many times during my time there - and he was so modest about his accomplishments helping many famous racers. Rest in Peace my friend

I'm sorry to learn of Ron's passing. My condolences to his family and friends.
I remember stopping in at Ron's service station when I was in the eighth grade. He let my friends and I hang around and marvel at John Surtees's race car which was an exciting thing for us kids.
Ron went on to run the service dept. at Cowan Pontiac/Buick.He did a fabulous job looking after my parents (Pearl and Walter) and their cars.He was always happy and friendly.I know this was a stressful job but he seemed to thrive on it.He certainly could cheer anybody up with his positive attitude and view of reality.
Ron made Bowmanville a better place. He will be missed.

Heaven will be a better place with him in it.
His daily graveside chats with 'Cec' can now go back to in person....rest in peace Buddy...

We were very sad to hear of Ron’s passing and send our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Ron was our wonderful, kind and helpful neighbour for 35 years. He really was a mainstay on Simpson Ave., as well as to Bowmanville in general. He always took the time to chat and catch up and also, with a twinkle in his eye, added a bit of teasing. We loved him dearly. You will be missed Ron. Bob and Joyce Boyer

Many great memories of Ron from growing up. Stopping in at Ron's (and Cecil's), playing pool at the neighbors with John, swapping stories at the kitchen table, travelling to baseball games in his spotless Grand Prix and so on. He was always willing to help however he could and was very good to me and my family and will truly be missed. My deepest condolences.

Words can’t express what Mutt meant to our family. Because he was family. From the time I could walk and going to visit the dealership, he’d ambush me with a tug on my earlobe as one of his friendliest gestures. I believe he stopped that in my twenties :). From the get togethers, to his annual Christmas Eve gatherings, to him supporting me from his backyard or right field as I played Jr with the Orioles. He was always looking after everybody else moving 100km/hr doing it. A great hardworking, caring man.
My condolences to John,family,and friends.
You will be missed Mutt.

We were very saddened to hear the news on Ron's passing. He had been a wonderful friend & neighbour (3 doors down) for over 34 years, until his move last summer. We shared many interesting chats whilst, shoveling sidewalks, or stopping from yard work to catch up on each other's lives, and he was a wealth of information on the comings and goings of our town of Bowmanville. Despite Ron moving last summer to a big beautiful home here in Bowmanville, we would still meet up whilst out walking and have a nice talk, peppered with a giggle or two. Sure will miss those talks and his smile. Our deepest condolences to the family. He will be greatly missed by so many. Sympathies and Prayers Mark & Holly Carter

I am very sorry to hear about Mr Ron Muttons passing. I was his favourite mail lady when I delivered to his home on simpson avenue a couple of years ago. I remember delivering many birthday cards to him and he would meet me outside to get them with a smile. I always enjoyed my chats with him and always joked about how he would be a great letter carrier with how fast he walked. Lol
He was often on his way to catch the bus to visit his sister before her passing. He would remind me that he didn’t drive anymore and walked everywhere. When john was building his house Ron would pass me on his way to do his inspection lol and the next time I seen him he usually provided me with a house update. . It amazed me how much he walked and fast he was. I will miss his smile and stories. To the family, find strength in all the stories to be shared in the days ahead and know he was loved by so many.

I met Ron through Trish Ferguson, at Hair Solutions. He always had a smile and great stories to share, while visiting. He was a kind and caring man, always offering a helping hand. He loved when little ones and dogs would come.
into the shop, his face would light up. He'll be missed by many. My condolences to all of his family and friends.

Ron was like family to me. I remember fondly visiting him often at his home on Simpson on my way to or from my parents' and hearing his many stories about working with John Surtees and about his time at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park I loved seeing his racing memorabilia - he had an extensive collection. My parents and I ran into him often at our favourite restaurant, Bowmanville Family Restaurant and I will sorely miss seeing him walking around Ward 3, when I would always give him a honk and a wave. Ron, with a smile ten miles wide, exuberant personality and who always had a kind thing to say, loved Bowmanville, and Bowmanville loved him. He will be deeply missed and I know his loss leaves a gaping hole in his family - and in the community. Sending much love and support to his son John and wife Ana and all Ron's family, during this difficult time. From all the Traills (Terry, John, Corinna). requiescet in pace.
