I spent a lot of time with Paul over the years and always enjoyed working and hanging out with him. Of course, he wasn’t Paul to me, I always called him “Lemmy” (or “310” back in our fire protection days). Although, we were initially just co-workers we eventually became very good friends and we had lots of fun times together over the years. We went four wheeling together a lot on our days off. Sometimes in the Ganny, sometimes in Northumberland Forest, we even went all the way to Marmora from Bewdley one time. Lemmy always liked to see how far he could push his bike by driving through the worst mud puddles he could find. I remember this one time in the Northumberland Forest. It was summer, and thankfully warm, because Lemmy decided he was going to drive through a puddle I just went around. He made it to about the middle and that’s where the bike basically disappeared! What looked like a puddle was probably about 4 feet deep! I was sitting on the side of the trail just howling with laughter as he started to basically swim for shore. He had a grin ear to ear when he climbed up on the bank bedside me for a laugh and a rest! Then he jumped right back in the middle of that puddle and pulled his bike out. He was soaked, but it certainly didn’t dampen his spirit. I always had a great time when we were together whether it was at work or play. I will very much miss him. He was and will always be my friend. My sincerest condolences to his family. He was so proud of you all and was very excited to be a grand pop.
