Obituary of Dorothy Constance Kostyshyn

The family sadly announces the recent passing of our dear mother, Dorothy Constance Kostyshyn (nee Matson), peacefully at Taunton Mills, Whitby.

Predeceased by her parents, Oliver and Irene Matson, sister Pauline, brother Bob, our father and her loving husband, Walter (Chuck), and her youngest son, Charles (Chuck) Kostyshyn. Dorothy will be greatly missed by many friends and family members, to include sons, Kent (Karen), Craig (Kelly), Clark (Kim) and grandchildren Nicole, Erin, Laura and Keon.

Dorothy lived a full and wonderful life, raising four sons, spending many years residing in Thunder Bay, and at the cottage at Lake Shebandowan. She enjoyed many activities to include, boating, fishing, badminton, and playing golf with family and friends well into her 80's. She was also well known for her expertise as a bridge player. Dorothy had a love of art and for nurturing plants and flowers, and often she would show family and friends around her home showing her beautiful floral displays.

Dorothy spent many years enjoying her retirement life, originally in Alliston, then later moving to Guelph to be surrounded by lifelong friends, many of which from her circle of friends from Thunder Bay and Lake Shebandowan. Her latter retirement years were spent residing at Taunton Mills, Whitby and to be closer to her family. Dorothy would often remind us that she had lived a "Blessed Life".

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the extraordinary staff at Taunton Mills, Whitby, many of them she termed as her good friends. She would remind us often that she couldn't be in a better place.

Interment will take place at a later date, at the family plot at Barrie Union Cemetery.
