I will miss my friend Pat. We met when she was a resident in Gust House 11 years ago. I called her the « mother hen » as she always tried to help at the home. She was very good at knitting and crocheting and made many items that she donated to friends, the church bazaar or to St. Vincent de Paul Value Store. When she found lodging at Donna’s home, she started to volunteer at the store in 2017. She joined a rosary prayer group at church and became a member of the Catholic Women’s League at St. Joseph Church. Pat overcame many challenges in her life with her « calm thinking » approach. Pat, you would have been pleased to see your many friends and your family who came to say goodbye at the funeral service.
Until we meet again dear friend.

Mom was a talented woman when it came to everything, not only could she do anything she put her mind to but she also taught us to do everything she could do. She could knit, crochet, bake, cook, garden, sew, she could do it all and did it with love. That's what made everything she did so special. She touched everybody's life in a special way. Mom was truly loved and will be missed and thought of everyday.

Pat was definitely selfless, 3 years ago I went into end stage renal failure. She offered me one of hers. No small feat. Underwent the procedures to find she was a match but I was not able for the surgery. She was very special. Her kitten will miss her spoiling her too. Say hi to all you meet up there.

One day I was wearing a bright red sweater at work, Pat saw it and told me how much she loved the colour red. So I bought her the exact same bright red sweater. When it finally came and I handed it to Pat the look of excitement and joy on her face was absolutely beautiful to see. Pat then told me she couldn’t remember the last time she got something for herself that was brand new. Pat was selfless, always looking to make someone smile. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten. ❤️
