Grave family, I am so deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Alexx. I only had the privilege of knowing her briefly, but believe me her spirit was truly something special.
G, you were like a second mother to me for a long time and I hate to see you go through this. Life is truly unfair. I’m so sorry you & your family are going through this. I think of you always. I love you.
Sending you all my deepest condolences.

Thankyou for sharing your beautiful daughter's truth. Never met her but you introduced this special person to many. Shared your post at a zoom meeting and everyone had already read it and discussed your daughter's life with another. Alex may never know the immense legacy she has left to others. Many, many are praying for your family.

Alexx truly was a gift of kindness to so many in the downtown Oshawa population and it was a privilege to know her, both in my role as a local council representative and working at the Mission. My daughter Layla also spent time at Sick Kids while she was with us so in gratitude I decided to donate to Sick Kids in Alexx's memory today. Thank you for sharing her story.

My condolences to the most selfless Family for sharing your precious Alexx's life to help others. No doubt Alexx's life will not be in vain because of her testimony shared from her Family. There are way too many victims suffering with mental illnesses and leading to drug addictions, homelessness, and suicides. . The awareness is increasing, but at a slow rate. Please keep the faith. I pray that God continue to bless and keep you all close in His bosom for strength, comfort, and peace throughout this most difficult time. May the Perpetual Light shine upon Alexx forevermore. Blessings!!! XOXOXOXOXO's

Thank you for the honest and authentic obituary about Alexx. A model for others to realistically honour someone who has died.
Your obituary is a deeply moving portrait of a brave woman whose struggles were monumental. I am passing it on to my co-wokers at The Refuge in Oshawa, a centre for street and homeless youth. Brad Lockner.

Thank you for sharing the very real life of Alexx. The memories that we carry in our lives are all that we have. And my hope for your family is that at some point only the very best memories will be the ones you carry, so that you too can learn to return to a life of joy and love knowing that your beautiful girl is still in your heart, alive and laughing. I lost my brother to the darkness of mental illness in 1985. And he died from an overdose in 2005. It is a journey that not many understand. Thank you for showing us Alexx. She is a gift to this world, and I know you fought hard for her and that as a family your love for her is larger then any obituary can show. You have told us her honest story hoping to help. And know that you have helped Thank you.

Thank you for sharing this. I lost my Jenny in November 2016 to fentanyl poisoning. She was the most wonderful kid, and your picture of Alexx reminded me so much of a picture I have of her when she was five. Her life as a person who used drugs was only a part of her, but sadly the thing people will remember first. She was a kind, caring and loving person. My heart is with yours as you begin this grief journey. Sending warm hugs, Mary Byberg

I am hopeful that Alexx is looking down on you with nothing but love and pride for your efforts to help the community that was there for her in her time of need. I’m choosing to hang onto the perpetually smiling, joking, caring Alexx that always showed up for me and my children over the years of annual visits. She had an extra tender spot for my daughter with special needs and lit up for us as we did for her. We will miss you Alexx, RIP sweetie. Love flows to you Karen, Steve , Mackenzie and Jordan!

Thank you for sharing the story of your beautiful daughter. It is a wonderful reminder to all that behind the title “homeless” or “drug addict” are real people with real families and real struggles. I’m sorry she couldn’t be reached before this end. Sending you all love and strength!

We have never met but we have walked the same road. I lost my brother to an overdose in early January and it has left my family devastated. It has been a lonely journey in grief. If you haven't lived it people do not truly understand what it is to lose someone to an overdose and the complex feelings and emotions that go with it. I thank you for your honesty in your daughter's obituary , more are needed. So many struggle in silence because of the stigmatism with mental health and addiction. My deepest sympathies to your family. In the arms of an angel may your daughter find peace.

To a woman whose message reaches far beyond those who knew her personally. The rawness and vulnerability of her story is an honest example of what it is like to battle the inner demons, tumultuous emotions and detrimental coping mechanisms that also come with the unbeknownst love, creativity and passion of BPD. May her story be mourned, understood and loved while she rests peacefully.
