It is with great sadness that I read about the passing of Father Michael.
I have fond memories of time together with our family, Peter, Liz, Chris and Jennifer Batson, at St Aidan's Church on Silverbirch.
We were part of the church family and also friends. and enjoyed spending time at your cottage.
We played and prayed together.
Sincere condolences to the entire family, especially Bonnie.

Dear BJ and Raymond,
For the more than two decades I have known you, BJ, you have spoken highly of your brother so many times.
I am so happy that Andy and I met him on that wonderful June afternoon and evening at The Punts in 2018.
It was as if we had known Michael for years ... he was warm and friendly, extremely interesting, and intent to know
more about us and especially about the Charlevoix area. He was so young at heart, so lively, and as others have said,
he had a wonderful sense of humour.
We share our grief with you two, with all his nieces and nephews, and especially with Bonny.

Dear Bonnie
Words cannot express the shock and sorrow I feel upon learning of Michael's death. He has woven in and out of my life since our university days, but always when we met we took up where we had left off. Such an easy and rich association. I am so sorry to hear that you also have covid. My prayers and best wishes are with you for a speedy and complete recovery. I hope also that you have supportive family close as you grieve.

Dear BJ and family. I am deeply sorry to learn of Michael’s very difficult passing and the great sadness these past many months have been for all of you.I remember Michael as a kind and gentle man with a tremendous warm smile and sense of humour.I know he will be hugely missed .

Marion and I join with countless others in sharing in your loss, Bonnie. Michael was always jolly, brave and humble which is the reason that so many people were endeared to him. He made it easy to be his friend. We will miss hearing his many anecdotes and stories. Bishop Michael served his Lord faithfully and well. He was truly a servant leader, an example to those who try to follow Christ. Bonnie, be assured of our prayers and offer of whatever help you may need going forward.

Michael was not only a friend, but an inspiration. He found enjoyment and even fun in life despite serious obstacles, and faith amidst adversity, and even sorrow. He showed how faith can truly uplift us. He never lost touch with the roots of his being, and never allowed his own considerable brilliance and achievements to divert his attention from what is really most important in life: faith, family, friends, and nature. I offer my deepest condolences to Bonnie, Judith, John, Jessica, Lyne, and Justin, as well as Sarah and Peter. With them, I will miss him greatly.
