So sorry to hear of Evelyn’s passing. I met Evelyn at the BOAA when she joined our choir there. She loved singing and being part of this wonderful group. Thinking of you all.

I first met Evelyn at the Bowmanville Royal Canadian Legion. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary and she frequented the weekly bingo. Soon after I became her personal hairdresser. I would go to the house on a weekly bases to do her hair and have a visit. She always had a story to tell and in turn I would tell her a story, usually a funny one so I could make her laugh. She didn't laugh often so when I had the chance to throw something funny in I took it. We became very close over the years and she became my adopted grandma. I feel grateful that I had the years to know her and to love her.
I will miss her dearly.

Our condolences on the loss of such a beautiful soul. Evelyn lived many adventures and persevered through many difficult times as well. Always enjoyed hearing her reminisce of days past over the years that we were friends. She always spoke her mind and didn't mince words so you always knew what she thought- and she was just as generous with hugs and appreciation to those she held dear. Never have I met a woman so in love with knitting, scrabble and quality street sweets. She will be missed
