Obituary of Wilfred Kenneth Ellis

Wilfred Kenneth Ellis

Passed away at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on January 19th, 2021 at the age of 71 years.

Beloved husband of Linda (nee Carpenter).  Proud father of Bryce, Cheryl (Andy), Tara (Kevin) and Terry (Jessica).  Most proud grandpy to Madison, Logan, Breckin, Abigail and Aiden.  He was predeceased by his parents Charles & Mildred Ellis.  Much loved by sister Marie (Gary) and predeceased by brothers Gordon and Brian.  Dear son in law to Shirley & brother in law to Dale.  Wilf will be missed by all his nieces, nephews and cousins here in Ontario and Prince Edward Island as well as his 2 aunts in PEI.

Wilf fought a hard battle with cancer and throughout it remained a true and loyal friend to all who knew him.  Those who were close to him knew his love of country music and all the jamborees that sustained him.  He relished his heritage and always tried to pass on his love of family and music.  He tried to never miss any of his grandchildren’s hockey games, he was their biggest fan!

Wilf was born at 10 Mile House in PEI but moved with his family to Ontario when he was only 2 years old.  He met Linda when he was 11 and she was only 8, they married on January 29th, 1971 and sadly he died 10 days before their 50th wedding anniversary.  His family meant the world to him, he was the glue that held us together, planning countless reunions both here and on the island.  He may have spent most of his life and raised his family in Ontario, but PEI still held a piece of his heart.  Spending time with loved ones and friends were magical to him, he had a big heart and was forever checking in on those he loved.  He worked hard at GM for 34+ years where he made some great friends who even after retirement were a big part of his life.  He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Due to current restrictions no services are being held at this time.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.  Memorial Donations may be made to Durham Region Cancer Centre or in honour of his beloved Maggie to the Durham Region Humane Society.
