Dear Shelley, I want to extend my sincere condolences to you, Lynda, Bobby, Danny and all your extended family on the passing of your dad. He was certainly one of the kindest, gentle man, funny and hard working I’ve ever known. My memories of the 50+ years I’ve known your family brings back so many great memories. Sitting around the kitchen table on Concession Street for hours on end with your mom and dad. Coffee pot always on the go. Eating Tim Hortons donuts. It was a big deal when they opened... You may be too young to remember those times, but they are imbedded in my mind. Playing games with your brothers and Billy in the backyard. Setting up a baseball diamond in the yard, hockey days etc. Going to the ice cream store on Bath Road and on Division Street, going to the stock car races etc. Ordering Chinese food and pizza’s. Take out wasn’t what it is today. It was a luxury to order out. Money was tight. No such thing as credit cards. Everyone lived pay check to pay check. Your parents were a great help to my mom over the years - generous to a fault and always welcomed our family into their home. Welcoming Tricia and Richard for play dates and weekends many times.. I just want you to know I will always have a special place in my heart for your family and for your dad who was a very special man. Mark and Trudy Loney
