Obituary of Franklin Pedro Agnis Serrano

FRANKLIN PEDRO AGNIS SERRANO Passed away peacefully at home on December 19th, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. Beloved husband of Monina Lim-Serrano. Loving father of Marlie Michele Serrano, Mary Madeleine Serrano-Hruby (Roman) and Maria Monina Serrano, Jra. and predeceased by his daughter Marie Margrethe Serrano. Adored Papa of Monica Francesca Serrano-Hruby and Morgen Margherita Lim-Serrano. Dear son of Juan Mone Serrano and Honesima Agnis, brother of Jose Serrano (Salvacion), Ofelia Serrano, Milagros Arce (Raul), Pablo Serrano (Myrna), and predeceased by his brother Antonio Serrano (Corazon). Franklin attended the University of the Philippines (Diliman) and Mapua Institute of Technology pursuing a career in Civil and Mechanical Engineering. He played professional basketball with the Universal Textile Mills. His love for martial arts, Kudokan Judo, Jiu Jitsu in particular kept him fit and focused. Franklin was popular among the girls because he was a good dancer. His dance card was always full. Prior to coming to Canada, Franklin owned a transportation business consisting of a fleet of buses, taxis, and jeepneys. His entrepreneurial spirit continued in Canada where he owned a gasoline station, an automotive repair shop and an emission testing facility. Franklin had simple taste and wanted only one thing in life – to provide for his family and to be surrounded with the love and respect of his family and friends. Visitation will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville on Wednesday December 23rd from 2:30 – 5 pm. A Private Family service will be held at 5 pm. Please be aware, due to COVID-19 regulations we may only have 30% capacity in the building at one time which is no more than 30 people at a time, we thank you for your patience if you are attending. Masks are now mandatory to enter the building. Private Interment will be held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, Markham on December 29th at 11:30 am.
